Bonjour!
If you can’t tell, I’ve just returned from a week’s holiday in Paris, so there are no new lunch ideas this week.
Mais, ne t'inquiète pas…
While I’m reminiscing about a dreamy galette de pomme de terre et fromages that I ate piping hot and straight from the bag in the market, I’ve gathered a small selection of my favourite sandwich ideas from the archives. To go with that, there’s also a scattering of Substack suggestions for some lunchtime reading.
Hopefully, that’s enough to tide you over until the normal lunch service resumes next Monday. See you then.
Just a sandwich…because a sandwich at lunchtime is always a good idea.
Chorizo & piquillo pepper roll
A crusty bread roll toasted in the pan with the juices from cooking the chorizo, sweet piquillo peppers, and a handful of rocket leaves - oofh.
Bhaji butty
Freshly fried onion bhaji, mango chutney, yoghurt, pickled red onion…heaven.
Antipasti panini
Cool mozzarella, fresh basil, tangy sun-dried tomatoes and sweet roasted peppers. To toast it or not to toast it, that is the question.
Balsamic mushroom baguette
Marinated mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes and rocket on a mighty baguette. It’s mighty good.
